Big Ruler Height Chart
Like most moms, I feel like my kids are growing up too fast. The days are long but the years are short. I wanted a keepsake that would show their growth. I pictured them showing it to their kids when they visit Grammy & Grandpa’s house someday. This Big Ruler Height chart came out so good and was super easy! It also requires very few supplies:
- 1x6x8 piece of hardwood (I used poplar)
- small can of stain and cheap paintbrush
- Sharpie
- number stencils

First step in making the Big Ruler Height Chart:
I lightly sanded the wood and stained it. I drew the measurements on with pencil and traced the numbers on using the stencils. (This would also be a great task for a Cricut!) I traced over the lines and colored in the numbers with a black Sharpie. I used picture hooks on the back for easy hanging.

**Important tip**
If you plan to hang it on a wall, don’t start the ruler at zero…As you can see mine started at 6 inches so when I hung it on the wall it was 6 inches off the ground.

This has become a conversation piece in our family room. We even have all our cousins heights documented. It’s a thing the kids can’t wait to do when their cousins visit. Enjoy!
